Ritter Joins Team Northern Virginia, May 18, 2009

SPEC Innovations would like to welcome Christopher Ritter, our newest team member.

Chris recently graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Computer Science and is currently employed as a Software Engineer. He has worked in the computer-science field for more than five years and brings an ample amount of experience to the team. Previously, Chris worked as an intern at Optimal Satcom, at Orbital Sciences, and at VirtualSprockets, and held the position of Online Director at the Collegiate Times for more than two years. While working at Collegiate Times, the Virginia Tech school newspaper, he led his team to win the 2008 Online Pacemaker. He is also a recepit of the American Legion Spirit of Community Award and Newspaper Pacemaker. He has shown exemplary skills as a leader and a professional programmer and technical advisor.

2007-Present interface functionality. Developed enhancements in export and report options for the COMSTAR Enterprise Capacity Manager in C# and XML.
2006-Present Online Director, Collegiate Times, Blacksburg, VA. Led a staff of 15 people to develop a content management system in PHP, develop web applications in PHP, edit stories for online publication, write blogs, edit community content, design website templates in XHTML, cover breaking news, edit multimedia, and develop a Rich Text Format conversion algorithm in PHP.
2005-2007 Intern, Orbital Sciences, NASA Goddard, MD. Developed serial communications program in C++, raw image viewer program in C++, conversion utilities in C, developed microcontroller code in AtomBasic, and provided hardware thermal testing for hard drive enclosures.
2002-2005 Intern, VirtualSprockets/Kintera, Poolesville, MD. Developed graphical analysis software in Adobe Flash and created templates in XHTML and CSS.
